Tony Tackaberry - Chief Executive Officer

As Chief Executive Officer for Lion Television, LLC, Tony Tackaberry oversees Lion’s US operations from their NY office. Under his stewardship they have produced the PBS series History Detectives, currently in production on season 9; Royally Mad, a two part Royal Wedding special for BBC America hosted by Cat Deeley; Cash Cab, Discovery Channel's spontaneous game-show that takes place in a New York City taxi, which has taken home three Emmy awards for Outstanding Game Show, aired over 400 episodes, and launched a spin-off series, Cash Cab Chicago; WA$TED!, which premiered during the launch of Planet Green and recently completed airing season 3; and MegaDrive, an exciting new series for MTV. Lion Television USA also produced America Revealed, a four-part miniseries for PBS based on the award-winning special Britain from Above and hosted by the adventurous guide Yul Kwon, winner of Survivor: Cook Islands.

Other productions include It Takes a Thief, Discovery Channel's crime prevention show where former burglars break into houses in order to reveal their security weak points; SWAT USA, Court TV's up-close look at the high-stakes world of special weapons and tactics teams; Miami Animal Police on Animal Planet; “12th Year Senior” for MTV; “Moms Go On Strike” for A&E; “Family Trip” on The Learning Channel and “Discovery Rewind 2006” for Discovery International.

Before joining Lion, Tony worked for major international production companies including Endemol, Freemantle and Tiger Aspect. His credits include “Michael Owen - Close Up”, a one hour observational documentary for Sky following the notoriously private soccer-superstar; “The Life Laundry” (Clean Sweep on TLC), BBC2's hit show about de-junking your life; and for ITV he produced “Metroland”, an award winning documentary series for new directors as well as “The People's Vets”, an observational series set in an emergency animal hospital.
